Richland County Solid Waste offers the residents of Richland County many options on how to recycle household items. We have a recycling guide on our website that is full of important information for Residential and Businesses on how to recycle. It is our goal to give you the tools you need in order to dispose of items properly.

We are required to maintain the Closed Landfill at 536
Cairns Road in compliance with the Ohio EPA guidelines. Richland County Solid Waste has 13 Drop-off Locations throughout the county to help promote recycling. Our Educational Program for third graders teaches local students the benefits of recycling and why it is important for us to take care of our environment. The students also take a tour of the Rumpke
Transfer Station or Rumpke Noble Road Landfill as part of our education program.

Richland County Solid Waste is also responsible for operating the Compost Facility located at 441 Cairns Road. The Compost Facility gives Richland County residents a place to take grass, leaves, trees and limbs, brush, shrubs, sod, mixed yard waste, wood chips and Christmas trees. For more information click on the Yard Waste link above.
