Richland County Solid Waste Management knows the importance of teaching future students about Recycling. We have a Third Grade Program that is offered to any 3rd Grade Student in Richland County Ohio. Our classroom activities meet the requirements with the Ohio Department of Education Standards in Science, Math and Social Studies. The Education Specialist also works with 4-H Groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Pre-Schools, Home -School Students and students with disabilities. If you can’t come to our Environmental Classroom maybe we can come to you. We believe in having fun while learning the three R’s REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE. Please give our Education Specialist Lori Stone a call @ 419-774-5861 (Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.).
The Richland County Solid Waste Management will reimburse the cost of one bus per classroom session up to $100.00 (Max). This field trip will also include a tour of The Rumpke Transfer Station, The Rumpke Noble Road Landfill or No Tour your choice. The bus should arrive here between 9:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. Don’t forget to bring your lunch because you will be eating in the Environmental Classroom. The ending time will depend on whether your teacher decides to take a tour of the transfer station, the landfill or no tour. Tours to the Transfer Station normally end about 1:30 P.M. and the Landfill tour ends around 2:00 P.M. We look forward to seeing you. Have a great year!
We are located at 1125 National Parkway, just south of US Route 30, past the BP Station on Trimble Rd. Our building is the last one on the left.
